We look to gather 42 Pages before we can run. That is prior to running a workshop with a group unfamiliar with walking into the unkown, or working in wiki. For such workshops we seek to provide context and spectacle.
- Our Task
# Feeling Lost Many writers do not know where to begin. A blank page can be terrifying. Worse still a group without a purpose or direction often only amplifies this feeling of being lost, leaderless - where everyone is pulling in different directions.
# Context
We write together within a context. It can be helpful when your thoughts can be connected with the prior work of other minds. This context can be usefully structured as a set or cloud of small wiki pages, where each page has been crafted or repurposed for the context at hand. Alternatively they are written in a manor that allows them to be resused in a wide variety of contexts.
# Spectacle
When a thought, or writing on a blank page is connected to the work of many writers, a wider and exciting world of possibility suddenly emerges before us. We look to craft this transition between a quite meditative and solitary space for your own writing, with the spectacel and excitement of connecting with others.
# Noosphere
We use the term noosphere to refer to a collection of pages, that we bring into context. In wiki you can see how many pages are in your neighbourhood at the bottom of thge screen. There are many more such pages, and authors out there. We organise these sites and their authors into rosters, and imagine this cluster of adjacent pages - not yet connected - as the noosphere.
